Significance
Holi begins with Holika Dahan on Phalguna Purnima evening, a bonfire that represents the victory of devotion over arrogance. The next day is Rangwali Holi, when people play with colours.
Pooja procedure
- Prepare the Holika pyre at the community site.
- Perform pooja with roli, rice, coconut and flowers before lighting the fire.
- Circle the fire and offer new grain.
- Play with colours the next morning and share sweets.
