Preparing the home

Clean the house, draw rangoli at the entrance and keep lamps ready. In 2026, Lakshmi Pujan is on 8 November. Check the muhurat with your Pandit for Bangalore.

Setting up the pooja

Place the images of Lakshmi and Ganesha on a platform with a kalash. Keep flowers, kumkum, turmeric, akshat, sweets, fruits and coins ready.

The steps

Begin with the Ganesha invocation and sankalp. Offer flowers and sweets to Lakshmi, chant Sri Suktam or a Lakshmi mantra and perform aarti. Light the lamps around the home at the end of the pooja.
